TWITTER OHH TWITTERRRR

WHAT IS TWITTER?

Twitter is a social networking and microblogging service that allows you answer the question, "What are you doing?"by sending short text messages 140 characters in length, called "tweets", to your friends, or "followers."

PHOTOSHARING
Example of photosharing we use in twitter

4 of the photosharing device we use in twitter is Instagram, twitpic, flickr, picasa and etc.

  • PICASA
It is the only software you’ll need to manage your photos on a day-to-day basis.  The only thing it doesn’t do is serious editing and drawing like removing a person from a photo, or adding a bird to the sky, or drawing a logo.
It is especially good at backing up your photos and burning the CDs or DVDs to store them.  You don’t need any extra disk-burning software.

  • FLICKR

almost certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world - has two main goals:

1. Help people make their photos available to the people who matter to them.

Maybe they want to keep a blog of moments captured on their cameraphone, or maybe they want to show off their best pictures or video to the whole world in a bid for web celebrity. Or maybe they want to securely and privately share photos of their kids with their family across the country. Flickr makes all these things possible and more!
To do this, we want to get photos and video into and out of the system in as many ways as we can: from the web, from mobile devices, from the users' home computers and from whatever software they are using to manage their content. And we want to be able to push them out in as many ways as possible: on the Flickr website, in RSS feeds, by email, by posting to outside blogs or ways we haven't thought of yet. What else are we going to use those smart refrigerators for?

2. Enable new ways of organizing photos and video.

Once you make the switch to digital, it is all too easy to get overwhelmed with the sheer number of photos you take or videos you shoot with that itchy trigger finger. Albums, the principal way people go about organizing things today, are great -- until you get to 20 or 30 or 50 of them. They worked in the days of getting rolls of film developed, but the "album" metaphor is in desperate need of a Florida condo and full retirement.
Part of the solution is to make the process of organizing photos or videos collaborative. In Flickr, you can give your friends, family, and other contacts permission to organize your stuff - not just to add comments, but also notes and tags. People like to ooh and ahh, laugh and cry, make wisecracks when sharing photos and videos. Why not give them the ability to do this when they look at them over the internet? And as all this info accretes as metadata, you can find things so much easier later on, since all this info is also searchable.

Nix the watermark
This is a personal opinion, but I think that watermarking an image just about ruins it. Yes, it protects your photographic masterpiece but if you mean to protect your photo then upload it elsewhere. Twitter is the wrong medium for copyright-clad photos. But when it comes to promoting brands or a product, watermarking could be considered a must. In the meantime, Twitter really hasn’t found a way for users to protect their photo shares.

Choose your photos wisely
Everyone loves photos. Just like tweets, photos that you share on Twitter should also be interesting. Don’t share blindly…be picky. You wouldn’t want to post snaps of your office party en masse when it wouldn’t be of any interest to your followers. The best you can do is to share photos around a theme and support it with the text message. Like any other social platform, Twitter too comes with its own etiquette

Eye-catching image effects
Thanks to the universe of image effects web apps (and mobile apps), even a photo taken with a standard cell phone camera can be enhanced and made interesting. Give your dull photos a makeover using apps like Instagram, Hispstamatic, BeFunky etc,
Ultimately, Twitter is about the community. So, don’t be shy and share socially with the network of your followers and friends. Photos are tweets with a more graphic face, so you have to respond to them just like regular tweets to keep the network fires burning.  Share with us your best Twitter photo tip. What more can you do to spread your photographic masterpieces?

NETWORKING

Grow Your Twitter Network:
If you’re doing everything right — posting helpful and interesting tweets, maintaining a healthy level of back-and-forth, and seeking out other Twitter users worth following — your network will grow organically. Once you have them there, it’s time to harness their remarkable power.

Tweet Yourself Up:
By advertising your wares. I tweet about the blog posts I’m working on. I tweet about the manuscripts I’m copy editing. I tweet about the articles I’m researching. It makes me sound way productive. Plus, it gives others an idea of where my skills and talents lie. If you happen to tweet a lot about your amazing grasp of the behavioral sciences, or of medical writing, you’ll be the first person people think of when they need a medical copywriter. Or a shrink.

Get the Lowdown:
By getting the lowdown on things like professional organizations, conferences, and other events. In musing — via tweet — about the pros and cons of joining the EFA, the NWU, or Freelance Success, I received immediate feedback of others’ personal experiences with each. Being able to determine the effectiveness of real-work events and networking groups before paying an arm and a leg, based upon the firsthand experiences of others, can be invaluable.
